I will admit I am a glass half full kind of fan. This certainly wasn't a pretty victory. We had to rely on the football Gods for a little help tonight. But until teams reach the level of Bama or Clemson, you have to have some breaks go your way throughout the course of a long, tough season. That is just the nature of college football. We got a few of those breaks tonight.
Kudos to our players for playing hard and fighting back and never giving up and rallying as a team when Franks went down. Kentucky is a good team. They aren't the old Kentucky. But we found a way to seize a victory tonight when it was looking grim for awhile.
We've got a lot of improving to do over the next two weeks before our difficult Auburn - LSU - Georgia stretch in October. But these guys got the job done on the road against a better than advertised team when it looked like the game was even at risk of getting away from us as Kentucky drove down the field to start the 3rd quarter.
Go Gators! We live to fight another day and have a two game home stretch to get better. Our team is talented and there is lots of room for improvement. We are a team when needs to grow up and mature in the secondary and on the O-line and at the QB position -- but we have a chance to finish strong again this year just like last year. Even if we just clean up our mistakes we are a very good team. If we add in a running game from an improving O-line as the season goes along (as it did last year) and we can be a heck of a team by the end of the year.
