Florida letting Charlotte hang in this thing. Charlotte threatening in Gator territory with 12 min left. Gators up 19-7.

After another three and out by the 49ers, a long Ricky Pearsall punt return was negated by a block in the back. Mertz and company take over on their own 25.
The Gators cap off a flawless opening drive with a Graham Mertz-Arlis Boardingham connection. Mertz went 3/3 with 51 yards and Montrell Johnson tacked on 38 yards. 7-0 Gators with 8:26 left in the first.
