1st Half - When You're Good, Lucky, And The Officials Blow The Calls

JACKSONVILLE -- Things didn't. really change all that much in the first half of Florida-Georgia from 2021. Last year, Georgia was trailing by 24 and Anthony Richardson was injured. This year the Gators were down by 25 after two quarters, 28-3. Once again, things were bleak.
A wobbly first quarter led to zero first downs and a banged-up Richardson for the Gators. After taking a low shot near the sideline on the first drive, Richardson came up gingerly with an evident limp. A team that prides itself in its run game had a measly four rushing yards after one half along with only 75 passing yards. Conversely, Georgia and Stetson Bennett rolled up 346 yards of offense.
The longest connection of the half for the Gators came on a 41-yard catch by Justin Shorter, although Shorter had to be tended to on the sideline for an apparent ankle injury. Both Richardson and Shorter did not miss any time for their injuries.
To make matters worse, the bounce of the ball went Georgias' way, tight end Brock Bowers bobbling a ball and turning it into a 73-yard TD.
The Bulldogs were also the beneficiary of a blown call on pass interference, awarded by officials to Georgia instead of Florida. An act that even caused criticism from CBS announcers Brad Nessler and Gary Danielson.
Horrible referring calls this game and as always Georgia did their best and did take out our main player.
Nothing new. We have been getting the short end all year. I guess we don't say anything about it. Maybe our AD doesn't support the team. I can understand some can be missed but when they happen right in front of an official l began to wonder.
