Chomp Up the Charts: Florida Jumps to No. 8 in AP, Coaches Polls

Florida’s 52-28 rout of No. 4 Ole Miss did what a win like that is supposed to do. The Gators are No. 8 in both major polls.

In the AP Top 25 released Sunday afternoon, Florida (4-0, 2-0 SEC) jumped 13 spots, from No. 21 to No. 8, with 1,272 points. The AFCA Coaches Poll moved the Gators 14 spots, from No. 22 to No. 8, with 1,214 points.

Texas stayed No. 1 in both polls, with 62 first-place votes in the AP poll and 45 in the Coaches Poll. Georgia is No. 2 in both.

Ole Miss paid for Saturday. The Rebels fell five spots to No. 9 in the AP poll and six spots to No. 12 in the Coaches Poll.

Next up is Missouri, No. 25 in both polls. Florida plays at Missouri on Saturday, Oct. 3, at 3:30 p.m. ET.
