It's Game Day in The Swamp: No. 21 Florida vs No. 4 Ole Miss

No. 21 Florida (3-0, 1-0 SEC) hosts No. 4 Ole Miss (3-0, 1-0 SEC) today at 3:30 p.m. ET at Ben Hill Griffin Stadium, live on ABC.

Both teams are unbeaten. Both are ranked. The loser takes its first blemish of the season. The winner banks a résumé win that will echo through the SEC race all fall.

The biggest stage of the season

This is the kind of afternoon The Swamp was built for. SEC Nation broadcast live from Gainesville from 9 a.m. to noon, and Sean McDonough, Greg McElroy and Katie George have the call on ABC.

Florida is a 3.5-point favorite — yes, the No. 21 team favored over the No. 4 team. Head coach Jon Sumrall had some fun with that one this week: "There's a lot of good drugs out there," he said.

Strength on strength

This one is simple to describe: the SEC's leading rusher against one of the country's most dangerous quarterbacks.

Junior running back Jadan Baugh leads the SEC with 458 rushing yards, and his eight rushing touchdowns lead the nation. Ole Miss quarterback Trinidad Chambliss threw for 301 yards and a touchdown against Florida last season.

Sumrall called Chambliss the best quarterback in college football. So the Gators know exactly what they're walking into.

Florida's biggest question is senior wide receiver Eric Singleton Jr., who has not played this season because of a sprained left ankle. He is a game-time decision, though Sumrall told ESPN he feels decent about his chances.

Ole Miss, meanwhile, will be without star running back Kewan Lacy. The Doak Walker Award finalist has been ruled out with a left shoulder injury, one of 10 Rebels out. Lacy ran for 224 yards and three touchdowns against Florida in Oxford last season.

A win today gives Florida its first 4-0 start since 2019.
