Gators Land Coveted Shortstop Transfer
Another Stellar Recruiting Class For Tim Walton
The Gators landed coveted transfer shortstop Rylee Holtorf from PAC-12 (Pac-Gone) Washington. Holdorf played every inning in 2024 while posting a .945 fielding percentage with 56 putouts, 64 assists and helped turn 10 double plays. She did play some third base as a freshman so look for coach Walton to insert her where needed next season.
2024 offensive rankings on Washington’s team:
#1- Runs Scores (37)
#1- At-Bats (152)
#2- Batting Average (.336)
#3- Home Runs (11)
#3- Slugging Percentage (.632)
#3- OPS (1.052)
Holt off was thought to be leaning towards Oklahoma and was at the WCWS celebrating with OU friends and family, however Shortstop/Pitcher from BYU, Alana Agbayani signed with OU, opening the door for Florida. Holtorf, who will have one year of eligibility remaining.
Rylee Holtorf will join Alabama transfer shortstop Kenleigh Cahalan (2nd team All-SEC in 2024)l with two years of eligibility) and UNC Wilmington transfer pitcher Kara Hammock (2nd team All Colonial Athletic Association in 2024, one year of eligibility) to a loaded Gator team next season.

UF came in with another stellar recruiting class Fab Five Freshman: (Left-Right) Taylor Shumaker (Outfield), Gabi Comia (Infield), Townsen Thomas (Outfield), Layla Lamar (Infield) and Katelynn Oxley (Pitcher).
These players will add needed pitching depth and other outstanding talent. With Oklahoma losing 10 seniors in their run of four championships, the possibility for Florida to be preseason #1 in 2024-2025 is high.
