He will share some with the Gatorbait family and hopefully revive some memories of their own in the process.
Carlton Reese is a 1990 graduate of the University of Florida with a B.A. in English. From a family with roots deep and long in the Sunshine State, Reese grew up in a world of Gators and Dawg haters.
His first experience covering Florida football was while still in college during the Emmitt Smith era working as a news assistant and correspondent for the Gainesville Sun.
After a professional career that has taken him from sports writer to editor to columnist to golf professional to freelance journalist, Reese is now publisher of the magazine The Ocalan along with being a contributing columnist for Gatorbait.
Like all writers, Reese has a torrent of memories yet to find the ways onto any pages. With “Looking Back” he will share some with the Gatorbait family and hopefully revive some memories of their own in the process.

Bring ‘em on, Carlton! Emmitt signed when I was in grad school at UF. One of my lasting memories is going over to the journalism building from the business campus to watch the little electronic ticker board to see if he signed his LOI.
