In the seventh and eighth innings Sunday afternoon, Florida’s bullpen managed to turn what had the makings of a rather ho-hum win over Missouri into an adventure. The Gators (35-10, 14-7 SEC) were on cruise control with a 5-1 lead with one out in the seventh when things started going sideways. Cade Fisher, brilliant in innings four through six, ran into trouble in the seventh, giving up two runs before Phillip Abner came on to douse the flames with a strikeout and a grounder to Josh Rivera at shortstop. Abner ran into trouble in the eighth when he gave up two runs before Kevin O’Sullivan could get Ryan Slater into the game. It was 8-6, nobody out and the bases were juiced with Tigers before O’Sullivan could bring in Brandon Neely.
