There was no transfer portal when Billy Napier completed his first year at Louisiana. The Ragin Cajuns went 7-7 that year, lost a couple of games they should have won, won a couple they should have lost. All things considered Napier had a competitive team that always made it exciting. Then came the offseason. By the time Louisiana teed it up for the season opener of 2019 against Mississippi State in the New Orleans Super Dome in front of a sparse crowd of 22,440, 39 of the players who could have come back from the 2018 season were gone.
