FLORIDA RECRUITING: Four-Star Nasir Johnson Commits

Billy Napier continues to make waves Saturday as he secures his second and third commitments of the day.

After Amir Jackson's commitment earlier in the day, Nasir Johnson and Amaris Williams announced their commitments to Florida this evening. Both Johnson and Williams are four-stars according to the On3 industry rankings and give yet another boost to an already impressive 2024 class.

Johnson is a four-star defensive lineman from Dublin (Ga.) who had been leaning towards Florida, but also had a lot of interest in Florida State. He was in Gainesville this weekend on an official visit after taking an OV to South Carolina the week prior. It was his fourth trip to campus this year.

He is scheduled to take another official visit to FSU on June 23, but it is unclear if that is still his plan after his announcement.

The Dublin High School prospect has played both ways in high school, getting reps as a right tackle in addition to his role on the defensive line. While the expectation is that he will play on defense, it's always nice to have some flexibility if needed.

In addition to his action on the field, Johnson also threw shotput and discus for his high school track and field team.

Johnson's frame would excite any coach, and that holds true for the Gators who gain a verbal commitment from the 6-foot-4, 300 pound high school junior.

With the three additions today, the 2024 class now ranks third nationally according to On3, up from No. 13 earlier in the day. Meanwhile, 247Sports has the Gators sitting at the No. 8 spot nationally. Fans have been begging to see the big official weekends pay off. Today, it did.
