While Florida football has been at the forefront and continues to be as they prepare for a matchup with Tennessee, Todd Golden has been working non-stop behind the scenes to bolster the basketball program.

He'll have a big opportunity coming up as the Gators basketball team will play host to several of the nation's top 2024 and 2025 prospects.

To kick things off, Golden and company welcome in a trio of talented 2024 recruits on Sept. 15. Five-star small forward VJ Edgecombe, four-star center Ryan Jones and four-star shooting guard Isaiah Brown will all be in Gainesville this upcoming weekend.

Edgecombe will be making a stop at Florida starting Sept. 15 before beginning a fairly extensive schedule of official visits that includes Duke, Michigan and Florida State among others. The Long Island Lutheran (N.Y.) product released a "top 10" list, which Florida was included on.

Here's what the five-star had to say on the Gators:

"Florida is about to be my first official visit," Edgecombe told 247Sports. "I’m looking forward to them showing love to me and my family. My family is a key part in this too so we’re looking forward to them welcoming us with open arms and setting the standard for the rest of the schools. This is about to be the first impression so they have a chance to set the bar high."

As for Ryan Jones, he has been on campus on numerous occasions, attending several Florida games last season. The Gainesville native had originally planned to leave the state after high school, but the new coaching staff has worked to stay in his recruitment, and landed a spot in his final eight schools.

"This coaching staff right here, I felt more comfortable," Jones shared. "When they came in they made it clear they wanted to keep the players in Gainesville in Gainesville. They love the people in their backyard and that’s what I love about them.”

Meanwhile, Isaiah Brown is the long commit in the Gators' class of 2024. The 6-foot-5, 185-pounder made his decision back in May, citing Florida as his long desired dream school.

He will have the opportunity to work on the other two prospects who will be in Gainesville at the same time. Not to mention, the timing of the Florida-Tennessee football game should give these athletes a glimpse at what life is like at the University of Florida.

Looking ahead, Golden and the Florida recruiting staff have another group of high-profile visitors set to come to campus. The Boozer twins, Cameron and Cayden, will be in Gainesville for official visits the weekend of Nov. 4.

Cameron and Cayden are ranked No. 1 and No. 17 respectively in the class of 2025, which make them some of the largest names to take a visit to Gainesville since the hiring of Golden. The twins had been on campus last November for unofficial visits.

Cameron Boozer has drawn comparisons to recent top NBA draft pick Paolo Banchero. He also shared some thoughts on whether or not the duo will go to the same school.

"We definitely could be a package deal we also could go somewhere different," Cameron Boozer told 247Sports. "At the end of the day, we’ve got to go somewhere that’s best for us. It would be awesome if we could go to the same school at the same time but one school might be the best situation for him and it might not be for me.”
