Florida Victorious Adds New Director of Revenue

"Freddie Wehbe is the person who can really help us" -- Nate Barbera
The Florida Gators are making more noise in the NIL department as they have officially announced a new Director of Revenue. Freddie Wehbe joins Nathaniel Barbera, the Chief Executive Officer at Florida Victorious, and the rest of the team in hopes of bringing a local touch to the University’s main NIL entity.
Wehbe is no stranger to the Gainesville community as he has already made his mark with the founding, development and operation of Spurrier's Gridron Grille.
Wehbe is managing partner at the popular restaurant in Gainesville’s Celebration Pointe. Spurrier’s has become a favorite spot for tourists, recruits and opposing coaches visiting town. According to Nate Barbera, "everything he touches turns to gold," making him the ideal addition.
Both Barbera and Wehbe appeared on the Buddy Martin Show Tuesday night to discuss the move.
“Freddie Wehbe is the person who can truly help us,” Barbera said. “His experience, knowledge, intellect, and drive immediately drew us to him. He aims to elevate Florida Victorious to the forefront.”
The goal is for Florida Victorious to establish connections with major corporations and become one of the top NIL organizations in the nation. This move signifies another step forward for Florida in competing with other big-name schools in the SEC, where the competition is increasingly fierce. Nonetheless, Barbera remains confident in the power of the Gator Nation.
“Gator Nation is powerful,” Barbera said. “They want to help us win.”
Wehbe is determined to showcase what Florida Victorious stands for.
“Appreciate Florida Victorious, appreciate what we do,” Wehbe said. “We are shaping these student-athletes into leaders and providing them with valuable lessons and skills.”
He is confident that by spreading the word and effectively marketing the positive impact they have on athletes across all sports, fans will rally behind their cause.
“The days of not knowing what Florida Victorious stands for are over,” Wehbe concluded.
Progress in NIL and Gainesville appears promising. The first step is securing the right individuals to drive the initiative forward. Now, it's time to build momentum for the orange and blue. Barbera mentioned that Florida Victorious is currently involved with 11 out of the 21 sports on campus and over 200 athletes, but the ultimate goal is to represent all sports and athletes.
As the interview ended, Martin spoke on behalf of all Gator fans, expressing relief that progress is finally being made.
“It is nice to feel like something is finally getting done,” Martin concluded.
