#1 – Can the Gator defensive line get pressure against the Oklahoma passing game? The Sooners have had trouble moving the football on the ground all year. Mateer can be an accurate thrower of the football. The Gator secondary has had trouble at times. The defensive line and linebackers must get pressure on the QB and force some early and quick throws to give the secondary a chance to hold up.

#2 – Can the Gator offensive line find themselves again? The OL had a nasty edge in the first few games that has been missing lately. They need to find that street fighter inside them again if the Gators are going to be successful in tonight’s game. They need to believe they are better than the guy in front of them and then go out and prove it.

#3 – Can the Gators find enough in the running game to keep the tempo of the game in Florida’s favor? It doesn’t have to be Jadan Baugh alone. Can the presence of Tramell Jones Jr. and the return of Duke Clark take the pressure off Baugh? The Oklahoma defense has been good all year long. Running won’t be easy. The Gators need to establish the run game to control the clock and open passing lanes for Jones and the receivers.

#4 – Can Tramell Jones Jr. lead the Gators to a victory in the Swamp? Jones doesn’t have to win the game; he just can’t lose it! The Florida Gators are not built to come from behind by throwing it all over the yard. The offensive line isn’t made for that. The scheme isn’t built for that. Jones hasn’t shown the ability to do that. He needs to be good. He needs to be patient. He needs to be conservative. He needs to play within the system and make the right decisions.

#5 – Can the Gators avoid beating themselves? Can they avoid the poorly timed penalties? Penalties hurt, but turnovers kill. So, can they avoid the turnovers in the red zone and at our own end of the field? The Gators could have been in the game last week against Georgia if they had avoided the turnovers. They must do this tonight, or they won’t be in this game either.

The Gators are better than the Sooners. The crowd can make a huge difference tonight. The energy of the congregation needs to be palpable. The Swamp needs to be rocking by 7:55. The Sooners need to feel it. The Gators need to be amped by it. Time will tell if this team believes it is better than the Sooners and whether they can go out and prove it where it counts, on the field!
