They can move it. They can pay for it. But they can't rename it.

Saturday, Florida and Georgia line up for one of the great rivalries in college football, this time at Mercedes-Benz Stadium. The money behind it is real. Each school gets $7.5 million from AMB Sports & Entertainment, plus another $1.5 million apiece from the city of Jacksonville as part of the deal to keep the game there.

That's a lot of zeroes. But there isn't enough money in the whole state of Georgia to turn the name of the Florida-Georgia game into some corporate crap.

Call it the World's Largest Outdoor Cocktail Party. Call it the Rivalry. Call it Florida-Georgia, the way it's been said for generations. Just don't hand it to a marketing department and expect us to go along.

Tonight on the Buddy Martin Show, we cover The Whatchamacallit Game from every angle: the money, the move, the matchup and what's really at stake for Jon Sumrall's Gators against Kirby Smart's Bulldogs.

Joining us:

  • Franz Beard, with his take on how Florida matches up and what has to go right Saturday.

  • Ben Troupe, the former Gator, on what this rivalry feels like from inside the helmet.

  • Paul Wilson Jr., breaking down the keys, the edges and the pressure points.

  • Chris Spears, checking in on his way to Mercedes-Benz for the big Saturday contest.

It's Florida-Georgia. No matter what they call it up there.
