GAINESVILLE — Urban Meyer won 65 games in six seasons at Florida, with two national championships and two SEC titles. The Gators will add his name to the Ring of Honor on Saturday during their game against Oklahoma.

Florida has scheduled Meyer’s Ring of Honor induction for the end of the first quarter against Oklahoma on Nov. 7. The opponent adds a fitting connection: the Gators beat the Sooners 24-14 to finish the 2008 season with Meyer’s second national title at UF.

65-15: The six-season ledger

Meyer coached Florida from 2005 through 2010 and won 65 of 80 games. That is an 81.25% winning rate, calculated from his final UF record. The total includes the bowl victory that closed his tenure.

2 + 2: Championships on both stages

The 2006 and 2008 Gators won both the SEC championship and the national championship. Those are season labels: the national title games were played the following January. The National Football Foundation lists both championship seasons in Meyer’s Hall of Fame biography, alongside the Heisman Trophy Tim Tebow won in 2007.

3: Seasons with 13 wins

Florida finished 13-1 in 2006, 2008 and 2009. UF’s historical season chart separates the two championship teams from the 2009 group, which went unbeaten in the regular season before losing the SEC Championship Game to Alabama.

36-5: The Swamp advantage

Meyer’s teams lost only five home games in six seasons. The 36-5 home record works out to an 87.8% winning rate, rounded to one decimal place. His Florida teams also went 11-4 against opponents ranked in the top 10, according to UF’s Hall of Fame announcement.

22: Wins without a break

The 2008 and 2009 teams combined for a school-record 22-game winning streak. Florida’s announcement also credits Meyer’s teams with 16 consecutive SEC wins between Oct. 4, 2008, and Oct. 2, 2010. The first streak counts all opponents; the second tracks conference games.

16-2: Three rivalries, six years

Against Tennessee, Georgia and Florida State, Meyer’s Gators went a combined 16-2. UF highlighted that record against the three rivals in its Ring of Honor feature this week.

57 and 113: Honors across the roster

Florida credits players during Meyer’s tenure with 57 All-America honors and 113 All-SEC accolades. Those totals count honors, not 57 or 113 different players. Tebow’s 2007 Heisman gives the era its signature individual award, while the larger totals reflect recognition across six seasons of rosters.

7: A place around the top of the stadium

Meyer is set to become the seventh member of Florida’s Ring of Honor, joining Steve Spurrier, Jack Youngblood, Wilber Marshall, Emmitt Smith, Danny Wuerffel and Tebow. Tebow, inducted in 2018, was the most recent addition.
