Trick Or Treat: Penalties Handed Out Like Candy After Gators And Tigers Clear The Benches To Brawl
GAINESVILLE, FL -- Dan Mullen might be the next SEC coach lobbying for pennies after the SEC takes a look at what ensued just before halftime during Florida's game against the Missouri Tigers on Saturday night.
In the final play before the half, the officials seemingly swallowed their whistles after Missouri's Trajan Jeffcoat administered a late hit (and a candidate for targeting) against Florida quarterback Kyle Trask.
Mullen, who had already given officials an earful on multiple occasions throughout the night, had seen enough. As had Florida's sideline.
In a train wreck-like sight (you can't help but watch), both teams met at the 25-yard line in a sideline-clearing brawl.
In the middle of it all?
Dan Mullen.
While Florida's Zachary Carter and Antwaun Powell, in addition to Missouri's Tre Williams were ejected for fighting, every player on the field was dished a unsportsmanlike penalty.
Before all was said and done, Dan Mullen and Eliah Drinkwitz had met nose to nose and were eventually separated by assistants and authorities.
The second half of the Gators Halloween slate is bound to be good given the recent drama.
GatorBait has reached out to the SEC for confirmation as to if Carter and Powell will have to sit out the first half of next week's game against Georgia.
